SPRINGFIELD - The Missouri State women's tennis team will compete in the Central Arkansas Fall Invitational starting on Friday, Sept. 18, as the Bears play in their second of four events this fall at the UCA Tennis Courts in Conway, Arkansas.
The two-day tournament features six flights of singles play and three flights of doubles action. Each team will have individuals compete in one singles and two doubles matches on Friday beginning at 12 p.m., followed by two singles and one doubles match opening at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Five teams will be participating in the UCA tournament from Sept. 18-19. Joining Missouri State is the host Central Arkansas along with Southern Illinois, Southeast Missouri State and Harding.
The Bears completed their first tournament of the season from Sept. 12-13 by winning a majority of their matches at the Drury Invitational. MSU wrapped up its exhibition appearance by earning a 7-2 combined record in doubles and having three student-athletes go undefeated in singles.
The UCA tournament serves as a precursor for the Bears' trip to the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Tennis Championships, which begin Oct. 2. The fall schedule ends with Missouri State traveling to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for the Central Regional Championships hosted by Oklahoma State University on Oct. 15.
