Softball Alum Kramos to Coach Greek National Team

June 11, 2015

Former Missouri State softball standout and current Illinois State associate head coach Tina Kramos was recently named the head coach of the Greek National Team. Kramos was a shortstop for the Bears from 1991 through 1995 and was a two-time All-MVC first team selection.

"It is truly an honor to be selected by the Greek Softball Federation to serve as head coach," said Kramos. "The opportunity to give back to the federation for all that they gave me is great and I am excited to help continue growing the game of softball in Europe."

Kramos played for the Greek National team in the 2004 Olympics held in Athens. She was selected to the Greek National Team in the summer of 2002 and was a member of the squad that won the European Championship in Italy in 2003.

At Missouri State, Kramos was an outstanding shortstop racking up 487 career assists, one shy of the school record. In 1995, she had 152 assists, a program record that still stands. At the plate, Kramos hit just shy of .300 over 197 games played. She scored 94 career runs and drove in 73 while clubbing 17 doubles, 11 triples and three home runs for the Bears.

Kramos was inducted into the Missouri State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004. She has been a member of the Illinois State coaching staff for the past 16 seasons.
