SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Missouri State softball head coach Holly Hesse this week begins her annual summer trek around the country speaking at a number of leadership and coaching conventions.
Her first stop is in Denver, Colo., at the NCAA Women Coaches Academy where she will present on a number of topics including her book, "The Diamond of Success". While in Denver, Hesse will also speak at the Assistant Coach Immersion Program. Both conferences in Denver run May 27-31.
Next month, Hesse will travel to Atlanta, Ga., for the second leg of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy from June 22-26. She will present on the same leadership and organization components as at Denver this week. The NCAA Women Coaches Academy is a 5-day educational training open to coaches of all experience levels that offers non-sport-specific program management strategies, with a special focus on philosophy development and building your skills and knowledge about planning, communication, legal issues, ethics, hiring, supervising staff, conflict resolution, learning styles and achieving success.
Hesse will head to Kansas City on July 20-21 to speak at the Huddle, an annual national event held by The Alliance of Women Coaches.
Hesse completed her 27th season at Missouri State earlier this month. This season, she earned career win No. 700 and guided the Bears to the MVC Tournament title game. Her Bears went 30-25 in 2015, the eighth 30-win squad under Hesse's tutelage.
During her tenure at Missouri State, Hesse has guided the Bears to two regular season conference titles and five NCAA Tournament appearances. Her 48 wins in the MVC Tournament are tied for the most among Valley coaches.
