Trickey Named MVC Leadership and Service Award Recipient

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Missouri State senior Ali Trickey has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Leadership and Service Award list for the 2015 spring season, the league announced on Tuesday (April 28). The award is to honor the achievements of exceptional student-athletes.

Trickey has played in 45 games during her senior campaign this season receiving the starting nod on 28 occasions in right field. The lefty has 12 hits this year, including her first career home run against Samford on March 8.

She holds a 3.57 cumulative grade point average and is an exercise and movement science major at MSU. Trickey has been named to the Dean's List five times and has been on the Missouri State Athletic Director's Honor Roll each of the last seven semesters.

Among her many community service events, she has been a "Buddy" for the Springfield Miracle League the last three fall seasons. She has volunteered at the Meals-A-Million and Bass Pro Half Marathon events each of her four years at Missouri State.

In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport, during the season of recognition. The Valley will recognize 10 student-athletes three times annually (fall, winter, spring), for a total of 30 honorees. Institutions select their MVC Leadership & Service Award honorees.
