SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Missouri Valley Conference series between the Missouri State softball team (17-17, 5-4) and the Evansville Purple Aces (7-27, 1-8) has been moved from a Friday-Saturday schedule to Saturday-Sunday due to forecasted rainfall through midday Friday. The Bears and Aces will now play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m. and conclude the series on Sunday with a single game at 12:00 p.m.
MSU has won seven of the last nine meetings played in Springfield against Evansville dating back to the 2007 season. The Bears enter this weekend with back-to-back series wins after taking two of three games at Bradley and at Indiana State in March.
Missouri State will continue its eight-game home stand next weekend when Loyola visits Springfield for the first time since joining the league. The series with the Ramblers on April 11-12 is Rally for Allie Weekend and Legacy Day to celebrate all MSU softball coaches is scheduled on April 11.
