SPRINGFIELD - After conducting post-season meetings with all of his players, Missouri State men's basketball head coach Paul Lusk announced Tuesday (March 24) that one player, junior Gavin Thurman (F, Wichita, Kan.), will not return to the team next season.
Thurman, a 6-foot-7 forward, saw action in 26 games this season, averaging 6.0 points and 2.4 rebounds overall with one start. He scored 8.9 points per game over the last 11 games of the season and finishes his MSU career with 536 points, 208 rebounds and 64 3-pointers in 86 games.
"Gavin has been a part of our program for three seasons and has represented Missouri State basketball the right way," said Lusk. "We want to wish him success in his future."
Thurman's departure leaves the Bears with eight returning squad members - including all five starters -- for next season.
