COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri State women's tennis team dropped its first match of the weekend to the Missouri Tigers, 7-0, on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Mizzou Tennis Complex.
Ema Turudija highlighted the Bears' effort in singles matches. Playing at No. 1 singles, Turudija dropped a service game to fall 6-4 in the first set. The junior led 3-2 in the second set before Missouri's Kelli Hine rallied to win the match and complete the dual.
Mackenzie Rozell, Ekaterina Donetskova, Miranda Poile, Anelisse Torrico Moreno and Abbey Belote all competed in the No. 2-6 singles matches, respectively, for the second consecutive dual.
In No. 1 doubles, Donetskova and Poile held Missouri's Alex Clark and Cassidy Spearman to a 5-3 score before the match ended unfinished.
MSU's No. 3 doubles tandem of Turudija and McIsaac fell to the Tigers' Bea Machado Santos and Brittany Lashway 6-2, while Rozell and Torrico Moreno competed at No. 2 doubles as partners for the first time this season.
The Bears continue play in Columbia as they take on the IUPUI Jaguars at the Mizzou Tennis Complex at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 8.
