The Bears are scheduled to take on the host Tigers at 5 p.m. Saturday, while MSU faces off with the Jaguars in a neutral-site dual at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8 at the Mizzou Tennis Complex.
Last Weekend
The Bears opened the 2015 spring season at SIU Edwardsville Sunday, Feb. 1, with its first dual since the program was discontinued in 2006 as part of an Athletics restructuring initiative that saw the University decrease its total number of sports from 21 to 16.
Junior Miranda Poile earned her first singles victory as a Bear and sophomore Mackenzie Rozell forced a tiebreaker, but the Missouri State women's tennis team was defeated by the Cougars 5-2 at the Edwardsville YMCA.
MSU earned points at No. 4 and No. 6 singles. Poile won at No. 4 singles in straight sets and SIUE forfeited the match at No. 6 singles to make up the Bears' tally.
The Bears had several tough singles matches, with Rozell falling in a first-set tiebreaker 7-4 at No. 2 singles. Both Ekaterina Donetskova and Anelisse Torrico Moreno lost serve in 6-4 and 7-5 defeats in sets in their respective No. 3 and No. 5 singles matches. In No. 1 singles, Ema Turudija was swept in her first set against SIUE's Lexi Aranda, but competed in the second set to fall 6-3.

Making her MSU debut at No. 4 singles, Poile defeated SIUE's Haley Ilcewicz in straight sets 6-4, 6-1. It was the first action for Poile at MSU after sitting out the fall schedule due to injury. She was the only Bear to earn a victory in the dual against SIUE. The Australian native also competed at No. 2 doubles with Ekaterina Donetskova. In the first match for the tandem, the pair lost to the Cougars' Lexi Aranda and Sierra Halvorsen, 6-2.
How the Matches Will be Scored

The first team to earn two doubles wins earns one team point. Doubles play will be followed by six singles matches (best two of three sets -- tie-breaks at six-all).
