SPRINGFIELD -- The list of athletic events scheduled for Missouri State University's homecoming weekend, October 16-18, continues to grow with the finalization Tuesday of plans for the annual men's and women's basketball sneak preview event on Saturday, Oct. 17.

MSU fans' first look at the Bears and Lady Bears will take place at JQH Arena, starting at 5:30 p.m. Admission for the event is free, and gates open at 5 p.m. Standard arena amenities will be available, and parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis at adjacent parking lots and facilities.

Both teams will conduct 30-minute intrasquad scrimmages, starting with Lady Bears' warm-up and introductions by coach Kellie Harper at 5:30 p.m. Harper, who will be mic'd up for the women's scrimmage, will also lead fan interaction and games during the women's warm-up. The men's team will be signing autographs on the west end of the arena during the women's scrimmage.

The Bears will take the floor at approximately 6:15 for warmups with coach Paul Lusk introducing his players and addressing fans in attendance. The women's team will sign autographs and meet fans during the men's intrasquad scrimmage portion of the event, which will conclude at 7 p.m.

Schedule cards, posters and other fan items will also be distributed at the scrimmage.

All fans in attendance for the basketball sneak preview will receive a free admission voucher for that evening's MSU volleyball match, which will feature the Bears against visiting Bradley University at 7 p.m., at Hammons Student Center.

Tickets for all conference games will be available to the public via the same ticket outlets on Monday, Nov. 30.
