"We were very disappointed in the first round, but happy with the way we were able to bounce back in the afternoon," MSU coach Kevin Kane said. "We need to be ready to play right away. It was a mixed bag - some good rounds, but we're also too experienced to be shooting scores in the 80s."

Freshman Stine Pettersen fired Missouri State's best round of the day, an even-par 72, to finish in a tie for 24th place after the first day of action. A native of Moss, Norway, Pettersen recorded two birdies and an eighth-hole eagle in the round. She opened the day with an 83 for a 155 total.
