SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Missouri State Bears used four goals from four different players to defeat the Saint Louis Billikens, 4-1, in college field hockey on Sunday, Sept. 7, at Betty and Bobby Allison North Stadium.

In front of a record crowd of 367 in its second game at its new home that was dedicated on Sunday, MSU jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind four first-half shots - while the defense didn't allow Saint Louis a shot in the first half.

Freshman Andrea Soler Codina registered the first goal of her career in the ninth minute for the Bears, as she broke down the left side of the field and used a wrap-around to the Billikens' goalkeeper's left to put MSU up 1-0.

Junior Kimberleigh Eng scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 33rd minute, putting a shot into the net off a cross from junior Leah Reitmayer.

The Billikens responded in the second minute of the second half, with Katie Moss scoring her first goal of the season to cut the Bears' lead to 2-1.

However, MSU took a two-goal lead following Reitmayer's first goal of the season on an assist by junior Sydney Richelieu in the 59th minute, while junior Charlie Redhead scored her second goal of the year with a shot from the top of the circle - off junior Liz Young's pass - to seal the victory with six minutes remaining.

Missouri State improved to 2-3 this season after Sunday's win, while Saint Louis dropped to 0-4.

Bears sophomore goalkeeper Megan Drew finished with four saves in net, while MSU outshot Saint Louis 12-6. Soler Codina and Young led the Bears with three shots each.

The Bears have 10 days off before returning to play in Virginia with a 12 p.m. (CT) matchup on Thursday, Sept. 18, at Longwood University.
