IOWA CITY, Iowa - The No. 8 Iowa Hawkeyes used four first-half goals to propel them past the Missouri State Bears in a 7-0 victory on Sunday, Sept. 28, at Grant Field in college field hockey.

Iowa jumped out to an early lead with Stephanie Norlander scoring a hat trick in the first 12 minutes of the game for the Hawkeyes.

The Hawkeyes (7-2) took a 4-0 lead, before two Missouri State (2-9) goals by freshman Andrea Soler Codina were disallowed at the end of the first half and start of the second half.

Iowa eventually scored three more goals, with Norlander leading the way among five Hawkeye goal scorers.

Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Drew made three saves for the Bears, while Patrice Ahl had a defensive save for MSU. The Bears earned a 9-2 advantage in penalty corners and held Iowa to a season-low 18 shots. Soler Codina along with juniors Charlie Redhead, Sydney Richilieu and Holly Scherer, each had a shot on goal for MSU.

The Bears return to Betty and Bobby Allison North Stadium for their next matchup against the Kent State Golden Flashes on Friday, Oct. 3, at 4 p.m.
