LYNCHBURG, Va. - Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Drew made 10 saves, but the Liberty Flames took down the Missouri State Bears in college field hockey, 7-1, on Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Liberty Field Hockey Field.

The Flames (4-4) took advantage offensively by taking 27 shots compared to the Bears' seven in the game.

MSU's Drew was able to save 10 of the 17 Liberty shots that were on goal. Liberty had six different scorers, with Sarah Gipe connecting on two shots for goals. Ashlee Krulock led the Flames with three shots on goal and also had two assists in the contest.

Freshman Andrea Soler Codina scored her third goal of the season for the Bears (2-6, 0-1 MAC), which is the second consecutive game she's found the back of the net for MSU. That goal in the 42nd minute initially cut the deficit to 4-1, after Liberty had taken a 4-0 lead into halftime.

Junior Holly Scherer registered the assist on the Soler Codina goal and also took an MSU team-high three shots.

The Bears have an off day before they return to action Tuesday, Sept. 23, in a game at Saint Louis against the Billikens at 2 p.m.
