SPRINGFIELD - The Missouri State women's tennis team ended the Drury Fall Tournament by playing three doubles matches Sunday, Sept. 14, at Cooper Tennis Complex.
The Bears' No. 3 duo of freshman Rebecca McIsaac and sophomore Mackenzie Rozell led MSU by winning all three of their matches in exhibition play Sunday.
The pair only dropped one game each in two of their matches and their closest result was an 8-3 victory in the Bears' matchup with Washington University (MO).
Following losses in No. 1 and 2 doubles, MSU mixed up its rotation and the new playing partners were each able to earn a victory on Sunday.
Juniors Miranda Poile and Ema Turudija teamed up as the No. 1 doubles pairing and were leading against Washington 3-2 in their second match, before the tandem earned the win following an injury that forced Washington's doubles squad to retire.
The No. 2 MSU doubles team of sophomore Ekaterina Donetskova and freshman Ledis Molina fell in their first match together, but turned around and won the final match of the day, 8-4, over Northwest Missouri State.
The Bears aren't scheduled to compete again until October, when MSU will travel to Des Moines, Iowa, for the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Conference Tournament. The three-day tournament begins on Friday, Oct. 3.
