Melissa Stokes won the 400th match of her Missouri State career Saturday as the volleyball Bears swept Miami (Fla.) at the HotelRED Invitational. The victory came just hours after MSU pushed fourth-ranked Wisconsin in a four-set loss at the UW Field House.
Stokes becomes the 46th active coach to win 400 matches in her 19th season at Missouri State, while just two coaches ahead of her on that list have coached fewer seasons. The win also improved the Bears to 6-5 on the year, while the Badgers remained perfect at 7-0 and Miami fell to 5-4. MSU's

Lily Johnson were selected to the all-tournament team.
The Bears open Missouri Valley Conference play at home against Indiana State on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.

Three Bears reach double figures in kills, led by
Lily Johnson with 18, as Missouri State pushed the fourth-ranked Badgers in front of their home crowd.
Missouri State overcame a 21-15 deficit in the first set for an exciting extra-time victory. After
Simone House's kill pulled the Bears to within 22-20, Johnson added two more during a 3-0 run for a 23-all tie. Johnson's 11th kill made it 25-25, and
Lynsey Wright scored for a 26-all deadlock. A
MaryJo Kolze ace gave the Bears the 27-26 advantage, and House and
Olivia Brand landed kills to finish off the win as MSU hit .422 and piled up 23 kills in the period.
The Badgers won the second and fourth sets easily, using a 10-0 run to go up 20-7 in the second, and three separate runs of 5-0 or better to claim the fourth.
The third set was a toss-up won by Wisconsin, ultimately swinging the match in UW's favor. The Badgers closed on a 4-0 run after the set was tied 16 times on the way to a 21-21 score. The Bears finished with 17 kills and hit .297, but also committed six attack errors in the setback.
Wright hit .471 in the match with 10 kills, while
Andrea Beaty added 10 kills of her own.
Maddy Hogan led all players with 18 digs, and UW held a .362-.196 edge in attack efficiency and 8-3 lead in blocking.
Kinsey McCarter had 45 assists on MSU's 53 kills.

The Bears did not trail in the match after
Elise Munroe's back-to-back aces gave MSU a 21-19 lead in the first set, hitting .280 compared to .198 for the Hurricanes while serving up seven aces.
After Munroe's aces in the first, Wright notched a kill for 22-20 and joined with McCarter on a block for 24-20 before
Olivia Brand's kill finished off the win. Johnson had eight kills in the set on the way to 17 in the match.
Beaty's kill early in the second period capped a 4-0 run with the Bears ahead 11-6, and Johnson strung together consecutive kills on two occasions for leads of 14-8 and 17-10. The Hurricanes committed three errors to help MSU lead 21-11, and Brand kills accounted for MSU's next three points before a Miami service error ended it.
MSU scored the first three points of the third set and never looked back. House's kill put the Bears up 13-8, and Johnson scored for a 20-12 lead. After Brand's kill made it 24-16, the Hurricanes spoiled four match points before missing on a serve.
Brand finished the match with 10 kills and hit .381, and Beaty added seven kills on 12 swings. McCarter had 37 assists, while Hogan again led all players with 12 digs.
