CLEVELAND - Missouri State field hockey junior captain Charlie Redhead and freshman Andrea Soler Codina were named to the All-Mid-American Conference Second Team for their efforts during the 2014 season, announced by the league Thursday, Nov. 6.
Redhead earns her second consecutive second team honor following a breakout season.
A junior from Norfolk, England, Redhead set career highs in multiple statistical categories this season. Redhead topped season-best marks in goals (5), points (12) and shots (31), while also tying her top season total for assists (2) during the 2014 season. She competed in 17 of the 18 games the Bears played, starting in each appearance she made. She finished the season as MSU's third-leading scorer.
Redhead has accumulated eight goals, five assists and 21 points in 49 games played through her junior season.
Andrea Soler Codina earned her first conference honor of her career with a memorable freshman campaign.
The Terrassa, Spain, native played and started in each game for the Bears this season. The second-leading scorer for MSU with 13 points, Soler Codina notched six goals and an assist during the 2014 season. The freshman also took the second-most amount of shots for the Bears with 48. Soler Codina led all freshmen in the MAC in scoring.
One of her top performances came in the first multi-goal game of her career against Central Michigan on Oct. 17. Her two goals in the contest put the Bears up 2-1, before the Chippewas scored two second-half goals to defeat MSU, 3-2.
