SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The scenario is quite simple for the Missouri State women's soccer team (6-8-2, 2-2-1) as it puts the finishing touch on the 2014 regular season at UNI (6-8-3, 1-3-1) on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. A win or a draw by the Bears guarantees a home match at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium on Sunday to open the MVC Tournament.

"We have played some really strong teams on the road," said head coach Rob Brewer. "I hope our younger players have become accustomed to travelling. The focus is much sharper as we get to this point in the season."

MSU has been dominant in the all-time series against the Panthers holding a 16-1-0 advantage. The lone blemish came in the 2002 MVC Tournament and the Bears have not lost a regular season matchup at home (8-0) or in Iowa (6-0).

Senior Molly Huber tied the single season school record with her 12th goal of the year on Saturday against Loyola. Her game-winning goal in overtime clinched a spot in the postseason for the Bears and was her 11th goal at home on the season.

Junior Molly Brewer tallied her sixth goal of the year to put MSU in front early in the second half. She now has 13 goals and 13 assists in her career totaling 39 points, good for a tie for fourth in school history.

Freshman Mary Disidore assisted on the Brewer goal, her fourth assist of the season. All four of her assists have come in conference games, tying her for the league lead in the category.

If the Bears finish third or fourth in the final league standings, MSU will host an opening round match at Allison South on Sunday, November 2 at 1:00 p.m. Final MVC standings and postseason seeding will be determined on Thursday following the final three MVC matches of the regular season.
