Weekend Review
The Bears narrowly fell to Central Michigan and La Salle in one-point games on Friday and Saturday, respectively. On Friday against Central Michigan, MSU jumped out to 1-0 and 2-1 leads in the first half on goals by freshman Andrea Soler Codina, with junior Holly Scherer contributing with assists. However, the Chippewas tied it early in the second half and scored the game-winning goal with four minutes remaining for the 3-2 MAC victory. In the Sunday nonconference matchup, La Salle took a 3-0 lead into halftime before MSU rallied. Scherer scored two goals to cut the deficit to one, and junior Jackie Eskue scored her first career goal, but La Salle was able to squeek out a 4-3 win at Allison North.
