STILLWATER Okla. - The Missouri State women's tennis team's two players remaining competed and finished matches at the ITA Central Regional Championship at the Michael & Anne Greenwood Tennis Center on the campus of Oklahoma State University on Saturday, Oct. 18.

MSU junior Ema Turudija and sophomore Mackenzie Rozell played their second matches of the Regional in the singles consolation bracket on Saturday.

Both Turudija and Rozell faced opponents from Arkansas.

Turudija took on Nicole Breaux of the Razorbacks. She lost serve only once in each set, but eventually fell to Breaux in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.

Rozell was paired opposite of the Razorbacks' Flavia Araujo after dropping her first match in the singles qualifying draw on Thursday, and advancing past the opening round of singles consolation play after a default. Araujo defeated Rozell 6-2, 6-0, in their match on Saturday.

Both MSU players were eliminated from the Regional after losing their second match of singles play.

"This was a tough few days for us, however the experience gained was invaluable," head coach Mallory Weber said. "We have a lot to look forward to, but a lot of work to put in."

The Bears women's tennis team is scheduled to play in its final event of the fall season when it travels to Jonesboro, Ark., for the Arkansas State Fall Invite from Nov. 7-9.
