Ema Turudija continues singles play Saturday

Turudija & Molina Make Debut at ITA Regional Championship

STILLWATER Okla. - Junior Ema Turudija played in two matches and freshman Ledis Molina joined her in doubles action as the two participated for the Missouri State women's tennis team in the ITA Central Regional Championship on Friday, Oct. 17, at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center.

Turudija represented MSU in the 64-player singles main draw. She was placed opposite the third-ranked player at the regional - Oklahoma's Lily Miyazaki - and lost to her in the first round in two sets, 6-2, 6-1.

Molina joined Turudija in the doubles main draw to face the duo of Meghan Cassens and Ana Gasparovic of Iowa State. MSU's tandem were able to pick off two games from Iowa State's doubles team, but the Cyclones prevailed 8-2 over the Bears. With the loss, Molina/Turudija were eliminated from doubles play.

Turudija joins MSU sophomore Mackenzie Rozell in the singles consolation bracket after her loss in the singles main draw. Both are scheduled to play on Saturday, with Turudija squaring off with Nicole Breaux of Arkansas and Rozell taking on Nebraska-Omaha's Hylan Miller.
