        MUNCIE, Ind. - Missouri State fell to the Ball State Cardinals,        5-0, in a Mid-American Conference field hockey game on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the BSU Turf        Field.
        The Bears dropped to 3-11 overall and 0-3 in conference play,        while the Cardinals ended a seven-game skid for their first conference victory of the        season and improved to 4-7 overall.
        Lexi Kavanaugh led Ball State by recording a hat trick, with two        of her goals coming in the second half. Five different Cardinals recorded assists and        goalkeeper Shelby Henley made six saves to complete a shutout.
        Ball State finished the contest with a 10-9 advantage in shots,        but MSU held an 8-4 edge in penalty corner opportunities.
        Junior Patrice        Ahl and freshman         Andrea Soler Codina had two shots on goal each to lead MSU. Juniors Sydney        Richelieu and Holly        Scherer also had shots on goal.
        The Bears will play their final three remaining home games        consecutively, with the first taking place at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, against Central        Michigan at Betty and Bobby Allison North Stadium.
