Heavy rain and hail hit the Phoenix area Friday (Mar. 8), forcing the cancellation of the first round of the Rio Verde Invitational, the second tournament of the spring for the Missouri State women's golf team.

The event has been shortened to 36 holes and the Bears, along with the other 15 teams in the field, will tee off for the re-scheduled first round at 12 noon Mountain time Saturday. The final round is slated for an 8 a.m. start on Sunday.
