SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Three members of the Missouri State women's golf team have received national recognition for their work in the classroom. Juniors Emily Potts and Kelsey Welber, and sophomore Emma Clegg have been named Division I All-American Scholars by the National Golf Coaches Association.
Welber is a repeat selection who sports a 3.83 GPA while majoring in Marketing. She also is a Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete in the classroom and a two-time all-conference performer on the course.
Potts is a Finance major who finished the spring semester with a 3.94 GPA, while Clegg has a 3.82 mark while majoring in Planning.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team is among the most stringent in college athletics with members required to carry a minimum 3.50 GPA and to have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's tournaments.
