Three Bear Golfers Earn National Academic Honors

Three members of the Missouri State women's golf team have received national recognition for their work in the classroom.  Seniors Emily Potts and Kelsey Welber, and junior Emma Clegg have been named Division I All-American Scholars by the National Golf Coaches Association.

Welber is a repeat selection who sports a 3.83 GPA while majoring in Marketing.  She also is a Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete in the classroom and a two-time all-conference performer on the course.

Potts is a Finance major who finished the spring semester with a 3.94 GPA, while Clegg has a 3.82 mark and is majoring in Planning.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team is the most stringent in college athletics with members being required to carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and to have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's tournaments.
