Women's Golf Still Seventh After 36 at Rio Verde

The Missouri State women's golf team improved four shots Saturday (Mar. 5) but remained in seventh place after two rounds of the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz.  The Bears posted 310 to go with Friday's 314 for a 624 total, while two of their players remained in the top 10 in the medalist race.

Junior Catherine Dolan moved up two spots to fourth place with 73-74--147 and is just two strokes behind leader Kristen Hill of Akron, who is at 72-73--145.  Freshman Rikke Falsner is tied for tenth after carding 74-76--150.  Junior Kelsey Welber is tied for 61st with 83-80--163, while sophomores Emma Clegg and Hermine Greyling are 66th and 72nd, respectively.  Clegg has posted 84-80--164 and Greyling 84-82--166.

Eastern Michigan continues to set the pace in the team competiton, shooting 308 after an opening 294 for a 600 total.  Michigan is second at 608 with Northern Arizona third at 611.  Penn State (614) is fourth, followed by Toledo (617), Akron (621), the Bears, Cincinnati (627), UALR (629), Ball State (631), Western Michigan (635), Bradley and Xavier (637), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (638), Southern Illinois (640), and Ohio and Bowling Green (677).
