SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Missouri State swimming & diving posted its fourth consecutive dual meet victory of the season with its win over Truman State on Saturday at the Hammons Student Center pool. The Bears defeated the Bulldogs, 117-102 in the men's competition and 134-83 in the women's.

Highlighting Saturday's action at Hammons Student Center pool were new season bests in multiple events. To kick off the meet, the 200-yard medley relay team of Anna Ahlin, Renata Sander, Roni Balzam and Andrea Uzcategui topped its mark from the Show-Me Showdown and set a new top time in the event with a 1:48.57.

Brianna Willoughby solidified herself in the record books with her 4:32.63 in the 400 individual medley. The time broke the previous pool record set in 1999 by more than a second. In addition to the new pool record, the Fort Carlson, Colo. native also owns the Missouri State record (4:26.20).

In the men's 100 butterfly, all five Bears swam as exhibition swimmers, but that didn't stop the group from posting fast times. Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week Vitalii Baryshok was less than .20 seconds away from breaking the 13-year-old pool record as he notched a 49.69.

Junior Aaron Henry dropped more than eight seconds off his time from last week's dual against Drury as he notched the victory in the 500 freestyle for the Bears (4:39.39).

Lindsey Conway had her best diving outing of the season in the 3-meter diving, finishing with 231.23 points. In men's diving, freshman Garrett Nevels notched victories in both the 1- and 3-meter competition with scores of 276.30 and 266.10, respectively.

In all, the Missouri State women's team collected wins in both relays and all but one individual event, while the men took home two relay victories and eight individual first-place finishes.

The Bears conclude their five-meet homestand with an important dual against the University of Missouri on Thursday at 4 p.m. In October, the MSU men went into Columbia, Mo. for the Show-Me Showdown and came out on top with an impressive showing over the Tigers, who were nationally ranked throughout the 2010-11 season.
