Women's Golf Signs Four for 2012

Nov. 15, 2011

Missouri State women's golf coach Kevin Kane has announced the signing of four high school standouts to national letters of intent. The newest additions to the Bears' program for the 2012-13 academic year are Caroline Boone of Wynne, Ark.; Lindsey Eisenreich of Fenton, Mo.; Megan Furnish of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Ariel Tidwell of Allen, Texas.

Boone was a four-time all-state performer at Wynne High, winning the Arkansas Class 5-A title as a sophomore and taking second as a junior and senior. She was a two-time conference medalist and took third at the state "Big I" championship last summer.

Eisenreich is the top-ranked senior in Missouri, according to National Junior Golf Scoreboard, and captured the Missouri Class 2 state title last month. She is a four-time participant in the St. Louis-Kansas City Mid-America Junior Cup matches and competed for Missouri in the Four-State Girls Team Championship last summer. Eisenreich was a three-time first team all-state and St. Louis all-metro performer at Rockwood Summit. She also qualified for the U.S. Junior Girls and national PGA Junior Championships in 2009.

Furnish was a first team all-state selection at Jefferson High as a sophomore and junior, with her senior season to come next spring. She qualified for the U.S. Junior Girls and national PGA Junior Championships last summer, and won the Iowa Section PGA title. She also is a two-time all-district player and was the Mississippi Valley Conference Athlete of the Year as a sophomore.

Tidwell currently is ranked 83rd nationally in her class by Golfweek magazine. She was a first team all-district and all-regional performer as a junior at Allen High, with her senior season to come next spring. She posted a top-20 amateur finish at the Texas Women's Open, placed fourth at the Starburst Junior Classic and fifth at the Texas Junior Tour's TPC Four Seasons Invitational last summer. Tidwell also won the district title as a sophomore at Rockwall High.

"With four seniors on our current roster, this recruiting class was very important for us and I couldn't be happier with the way it came together," Kane said. "This is an outstanding group with a lot of talent, but I feel just as good about their character, both on and off the golf course. They're exactly the type of players and people I want in our program."

The Bears posted a win and two other top-five finishes in the fall and are slated to open their spring season Feb. 19-20 at the Texas State Challenge.
