COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Missouri State sits in 10th place with 18 holes to go at the Johnie Imes women's golf invitational at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Colubmia, Mo.
The Bears were in seventh place through 18 holes at the 15-team event with an opening-round 306. Even though they improved to 303 on Monday afternoon, the club dropped to 10th, but are just 10 strokes out of fourth place.
Texas State (585), Florida International (596), host Missouri (598), Kansas State (599) and UALR (600) lead the way through 36 holes. Fellow Missouri Valley Conference schools Wichita State (sixth), Illinois State (eighth) and Bradley (14th) are also involved in the event.
Kelsey Welber (74-74--148) is tops among MSU individuals in the 87-player field, sitting in 16th place with one day to go. Catherin Dolan (73-77--150) is tied for 21st. MSU's other participants are Emma Clegg (78-75--153, t34th); Emily Potts (82-77--159, t63rd); and Hermine Greyling (81-83--164, t78th).
