ST. LOUIS -- The Missouri Valley Football Conference announced Monday that Missouri State left tackle David Arkin (Sr., Wichita, Kan.) has been named the league's Offensive Lineman of the Week for his performance in the Bears' game Saturday at Kansas State.

Arkin graded out at an amazing 85 percent against the Wildcats and recorded eight knock-down blocks. The MSU co-captain was the driving force behind a Bears' offensive line that allowed just one sack on the night against their FBS opponent. Missouri State's offense accounted for 447 yards of total offense and put together four scoring drives of 55 yards or more.

Arkin has started 35 consecutive games for Missouri State and played in all 84 offensive plays against Kansas State. This is the fifth time Arkin has earned Valley Offensive Lineman of the Week honors, also receiving the award twice a freshman in 2007 and twice last season.  He is a preseason All-America offensive lineman ranked by CBSSports.com as the No. 12 draft-eligible offensive lineman in college football.
