#43 Adam Beauchamp on the defense turning the tide:
"We talk about that in practice, creating turnovers and how a great play will spark other great plays. So we were trying to get something going to get our offense going. And then we try to feed off of them when they make a great play."
On his interception return:
"It has been a while since I have run the ball, but it came back to me. I wasn't sure what I needed to do, and then I realized I needed to stiff-arm the guy (trying to tackle him)."
On whether this was a must-win game after losing at Illinois State:
"Oh, absolutely. We knew that coming into it, our backs were in a corner and we needed to fight our way out. Our goal is to win the conference and we just took one step toward that."
#13 Cody Kirby on the comeback:
"I feel like it came down to us hurting ourselves. They are a good football team, but I felt like the score was the way it was because of the lack of things that we were doing. I felt that if we could get our focus back and start executing then we would have a chance at the end of the game."
On the defensive touchdowns:
"That is huge, anytime the defense can come up with points. It really sparks your offense. The crowd seemed to come alive a tremendous amount once we recovered the fumble in the end zone."
On having two 100-yard receivers (Saffold and Dotson):
"I think that just speaks to the kind of athletes we have on the perimeter. I have confidence in each and every one of them no matter who it is. If I can put the ball in a decent position for them to catch it, then they will make plays and that is exactly what they did today."
#85 Jermaine Saffold on the team's attitude after falling behind 17-0 in the first quarter:
"It hurt seeing everyone so down. It was like everyone was asleep. And then I just kept telling everyone to keep their heads up and we started to pull together. We just started to focus more and get back into the game."
#1 Cadarrius Dotson on the success of the passing game:
"We saw that they were playing a lot of man and we feel like we have good enough athletes to win one-on-one situations. We tried to attack it."
On surpassing 100 yards receiving for the first time at MSU:
"I didn't even know I had 100 yards receiving. It feels good."
Head coach Terry Allen on the game:
"It was kind of one of those funny ones. We had a nice group of former players come back (for MSU Football Alumni Day) and they were in the tunnel with us and we said we don't want to go out there and embarrass any former Bears. We certainly tried to do that in the first quarter. I don't know if we could have played any worse. Fortunately we had a lot of perseverance from our football team. "
On halftime attitude:
"I don't know if you can say we were calm, but after what we have been through the past couple weeks I am not giving any more pre-game talks. I am going to tell them it is the second quarter when we go out there. We saw we could move the ball because we had over 200 yards offensively. We kind of had a feeling that our defense was starting to control thing. Fortunately we got the turnovers and fortunately we got the points on the board."
On disrupting the YSU passing game:
"I think we got some pressure on the quarterback, but also we were changing up our defenses quite a bit and got them away from their rhythm quite a bit. We tried to put the burden on the quarterback. He is a good player but I think today he looked a little more like a freshman compared to our senior."
On falling behind early and what the Bears need to do to improve:
"We've done it two weeks in a row now. We can't do that when you are on the road and in our future games. I think we have the talent offensively and are experienced enough at quarterback to put points on the board. We just have to do a much better job on special teams."
On the team's urgency this week:
"Our butts were against the wall coming into the game, and we might have been too high strung. We told them this week 'Boys, it is kind of all or nothing.' So when you look up and you are down 17-0, and as a coach you kind of lay it on the line to them, to be able to come back and get the victory takes a little bit of the burden off your shoulders."
On the receivers:
"Jermaine Saffold is a very good football player. Jermaine can run. Cadarrius keeps getting better every week. I have to tip my hat to Wes Miller. Wes came in after Matt Thayer sprained his ankle and had four catches, some big catches for us, and blocked pretty well. That is a senior getting a chance and I am very pleased and happy for Wes."
