Missouri State is proud to announce the first-ever Field Hockey Youth Clinic, to be held this Sunday, September 13, at Plaster Field. The clinic will provide area students grades kindergarten to eighth an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game, and get action on the field.
Head coach Dawn Callahan, assistant coach Gabby Gomez Sosa and Missouri State field hockey athletes will run the clinic, and participants will be able to take part in drills and play live games against one another.
In addition to the on-field instruction, attendees will have the chance to receive team posters, get to know the athletes and collect players’ and coaches’ autographs.
Sticks and balls will be provided during the clinic. Shin guards are not necessary, but those who prefer may bring a pair. The clinic is open to both boys and girls and will be separated by age groups; kindergarten to fourth grade will be from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Grades fifth to eighth will be 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Those who would like to take advantage of this unique opportunity are encouraged to fill out the waiver and bring it Sunday. No registration is necessary, and participants’ parents may fill out this form the day of. Upon arrival, please enter through Plaster Field’s south gate on Grand Street.
