Overnight showers and steady rain through the morning and afternoon postponed the opening of Missouri State’s Missouri Valley Conference series at Illinois State Friday.

    The Bears (17-12, 5-0 MVC) and Redbirds (14-9, 4-3) will open the series at 2 p.m. Saturday, the first of two nine-inning games now scheduled for Saturday.The series will conlude at 1 p.m. Sunday.
