Missouri State senior Stacey Rodger has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week after leading the Bears to a record-setting performance in their final tournament of the fall season. Rodger fired a three-under-par 69 at Pelican Preserve Country Club in Ft Myers, Fla., in Tuesday's (Oct. 27) final round of the FIU/Pat Bradley Invitational and led the Bears to a fifth-place finish in the 15-team field.
In the process, the Bears set a new school 54-hole scoring record with 296-297-297--890, breaking the old mark of 896 set at the Islander Classic in Corpus Christi, Texas, in February 2007.
A senior from Brighton, England, Rodger's round was a career best and landed her in 14th place with 78-74-69--221. She finished the fall season ranked fifth in the Valley with a 76.33 scoring average.
