The Missouri State men's soccer team (6-3-2, 2-1-1) got an early goal from Nick Dryden and held on to beat Bradley (5-5-1, 0-3-0) at Shea Stadium in Peoria, Ill., tonight.
The Bears got their goal in the 11th minute as freshman Francesco Capone served the ball into the box. The Bradley goalkeeper got tied up in traffic and Dryden found the open net for the Bears' early lead.
Heath Melugin lead Missouri State with two shots, while eight others contributed a shot each for the Bears' ten shots in the match.
Missouri State goalkeeper Alex Riggs turned away nine Braves' shots en route to his second consecutive shutout. It was Riggs' sixth of the season, tying his season total from last year and putting him in sole possession of fourth all-time in Missouri State history.
The Bears will return home next Wednesday, October 14, for the final non-conference match of the season against Oral Roberts at 4:00 p.m.
