"We didn't execute. We can't play one half of football. On the second half, we came out and put stuff together. Playing a team of this caliber, you can't get that far behind."

"The defense played well enough to win the game. They gave it everything they had. If you want someone to blame, put it right here on me, #13. I'm quarterback and captain of this team, and I didn't play up to it. The defense got after it today. They played to win."

"I should have just ran, that's all there is to it. We had plenty of opportunities on Offense. The special teams came up with a big play and we have to convert."

On the team's effort
"We all knew coming in that WIU was going to run the ball. Physically we played hard. We never gave up in the game. We made mistakes on assignments, but you can't fault our effort.
We can and will get better."

On yards after contact
"It takes more than one guy to tackle (Donaldson). It was taking too long to get him to the ground. We just have to get better and we will every week."

"The fumble was huge, it really gave us a lot of momentum."

"WIU is too good to give them a 20 point cushion at half. I was proud of our team in the second half. Our defense fought all game long. They gave us a chance to win the football game."

On the Red Zone Interception
"We had a player run the wrong route on the goal line and we threw an interception. I asked the defense to get a 3 and out, they did, and we couldn't do anything with it on offense."

On time of possession
"In the first half, we left our defense out there. On offense, we didn't protect the QB early and Cody was rushed. I was proud of the effort but disappointed in the performance."

ON the offense
"I'm not at all disappointed in our defense. The disappointing thing was our offense in the first half. When WIU gets beat it's when they're behind. We didn't score points to put pressure on them."

On Cody Kirby
"He can't throw it from his back. We got a bad start that way. He threw some balls high that he normally doesn't. I'll go to war with Cody Kirby each and every week."
