The Missouri State field hockey team fell to Mid-American Conference leader Ohio University Saturday, 3-1, in Athens, Ohio. The Bears fell to 6-7, 1-2 in the MAC while Ohio improved to 6-7, 4-2 in the MAC.
Ohio scored all three of their goals in the first half off of Bears’ senior goalkeeper Jessica Schuster. Schuster had 12 saves in the game.
Junior Melissa Lantz scored her 13th goal of the season in the 66th minute of the game, dribbling by the Bobcat goalkeeper.
The Bears were held to seven shots and two penalty corners. Ohio put up 31 shots and earned 12 penalty corners.
Missouri State finishes the weekend on the road at Kent State, in Kent, Ohio, Sunday, Oct. 12, with a 12 p.m. start.
