The Missouri State field hockey team lost to No. 11 Ohio University, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Plaster Field. The Bears dropped their second confernce double overtime game this weekend to fall to 1-11 for the season, 0-2 in Mid-American Conference play, while Ohio improves to 9-3, 3-0 in the MAC.
The Bears defense held the Ohio Bobcats in a scoreless tie until the 91st minute of the second overtime. Ohio's Rachelle Coetzee scored off a fast break pass from Torrie Albini.
Ohio's Torrie Albini led all players with 10 shots, six of them on goal. Missouri State only had four shots, one on goal.
Goalkeeper Kim Kinsella allowed the game's only goal and collected 16 saves to push her season total to 139. In two conference games, Kinsella has collected 39 saves for the Bears.
The Bears will continue conference play at Ball State in Muncie, Ind., on Oct. 6 at 12 p.m. and Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Oct. 7 at 12 p.m.
