Missouri State men’s soccer was shutout in a 1-0 loss to Tulsa, Sunday, to conclude the Great Western Plaza Hurricane Classic. It’s the second consecutive defeat for the Bears, who are now 2-3-1 overall.
Tulsa scored its lone goal in the game’s 87th minute off of a header by Eric DeFreitas from three yards out. The Missouri State defense was tested throughout the contest, with Tulsa firing 21 shots compared to the Bears’ six.
Senior goal keeper Lance Parker recorded seven saves on eight Tulsa shots on goal.
Missouri State will compete in the second of three consecutive tournaments at UNLV. The Bears will face San Diego State at 3 p.m. Friday, followed by a Saturday contest against UNLV.
