The 2007 Missouri State field hockey season opens with six straight road games, matching the Bears' total number of home games at Plaster Field for the whole season.
Road trips include playing the season opener against in-state rival Saint Louis University and playing against former Northern Pacific Field Hockey Conference rivals University of the Pacific, Stanford University, and University of California-Berkely in California. The team also travels to play the University of Iowa and Unversity of Louisville at Iowa, and Indiana University and Ohio State University at Ohio State before starting the Mid-American Conference section of the schedule.
Five of the Bears' opponents ended the 2006 season on the STX/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll. Those teams include Ohio State at no. 5 and UC-Berkeleyat no. 12, while Iowa, Indiana and Louisville were numbers 14 through 16, respectively. Other opponents Ohio University and Stanford also received votes.
The MAC tournament will be hosted by Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, on Nov. 1-3.
Missouri State added six incoming freshman to the squad after losing seven players, including five seniors.
