Missouri State's Sally Hinton was named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Year Tuesday (Apr. 17) in voting by the league's coaches.  Hinton tied for fourth at the MVC Championship, which also concluded Tuesday, after firing 82-71-71--224 and leading the league in scoring average during the regular season with a 75.75 mark.  She also won tournaments at the University of Iowa and University of Nebraska and finished second at Oral Roberts.

A senior from Bridgnorth, Shropshire, England, Hinton will graduate in May with a degree in geography.  She is the school's leader in career scoring average at 76.74 and holds the top three single-season marks in MSU history.  She was a four-time all-conference performer and three-time academic all-conference selection.
