The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday, that Missouri State field hockey goalkeeper Kim Kinsella was named defensive player of the week to wrap up the 2007 regular season.
The St. Louis native finished the season with a 2-18 record after starting every game for the Bears. In 1317:15 minutes in the pipes, Kinsella allowed 59 goals and ranks No. 1 in the country in saves (224) and No. 13 in save percenage (.792).
Missouri State goalkeeper duo of Kinsella and junior Jessica Schuster are No. 1 in the nation in saves per game with a total of 235 saves, an average of 11.75 saves per game. The pair are also No. 20 with a .773 team save percentage.
The Bears will face off against Miami University in the Mid-American Conference tournament on Nov. 1, at 1:30 p.m. at the Miami Field Hockey Complex in Oxford, Ohio.
