Field Hockey held scoreless by Miami

The Missouri State field hockey team lost to Miami University, 3-0, Friday afternoon at Plaster Field. The loss drops the Bears to 1-18 for the season and 0-9 in Mid-American Conference play. Miami improves to 8-10, 6-4 in the MAC.

Miami scored first on an unassisted shot by Courtney Fretz, at 21:21, who was able to push the ball around the goalkeeper. MU scored again at 24:14 off a pass by Taylor Florence to Teje Kammler. Alyssa Nye picked up the Miami scoring in the second half, putting one into the net at 45:49.

Missouri State goalkeeper Kim Kinsella allowed three goals and collected 18 saves to increase her season total to 208 with a save percentage of .782. Amanda Miyashita and Stephanie Chase added a defensive save each for the Bears.

The Bears will close out the 2007 season at home Sun., Oct. 28, against Ball State. Missouri State will then travel to Oxford, Ohio, for the Mid-American Conference tournament Nov. 1-3.
