Maine tops Field Hockey 2-0

The Missouri State field hockey team was defeated by the Maine Black Bears 2-0 this afternoon in Evanston, Ill. The Bears fall to 0-3 on the season while Maine improves to 3-1.

The Bears were out shot 23-6, allowing 19 shots in the first half but only let them have four in the second. Maine also collected more penalty corners than the Bears, 10-2.

Both of the Black Bears' goals were scored by Nicole Emery with assists by Erin Reuch and Amy Zsrojesky.

Goalkeeper Kim Kinsellla collected 12 more saves for MSU. Senior Stephani Wehrman led the team with two shots.

The Bears' next game will be Wed. Sept. 13, at 7 p.m., against Saint Louis at Plaster Field.
