The Missouri State field hockey team pushed its win-streak to three games after defeating Robert Morris, Sunday 3-2, in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Bears improve to 3-3 while Robert Morris falls to 1-5.
Just a minute into the game, senior Stephani Wehrman scored with an assist from freshman Melissa Lantz for MSU. At 16:50, Lantz scored unassisted to put the Bears up 2-0 before the half.
RMU's Laura White scored on a Megan Kelley pass to put pressure on the Bears at 2-1. In the last seven minutes of the game, Wehrman scored on a breakaway, pushing the score to 3-1. Robert Morris got back into the game at 4:28 left on a goal by Jessica Hammaker with an assist from Sarah Schrott.
Missouri State outshot Robert Morris, 23-11, and received more penalty corners than RMU, 14-13.
The Bears return home to play Lindenwood on Sept. 24 at 2 p.m.
