Missouri State senior Sally Hinton has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week after winning her first collegiate last weekend (Sept. 9-10) at the Hawkeye Intercollegiate in Iowa City, Iowa.  Hinton, a senior co-captain, fired a final-round 74 in rainy conditions and came from three strokes off the pace to capture medalist honors and lead the Bears to runnerup finish. 

    The Bears' career scoring average leader and a three-time all-conference performer, Hinton fired 75-76-74--225 on the par 72, 6154-yard Finkbine Golf Course layout.  Hinton's final-round 74 was three shots better than anyone else in the field.  MSU finished with a three-round total of 943, 10 strokes behind champion Iowa and 18 better than third-place Illinois.
