Missouri State Women's Soccer Tops Louisiana Tech 1-0

Senior Angela Parsons netted her first game-winning goal of the season to give the Missouri State women's soccer squad a 1-0 shutout victory over Louisiana Tech at the University of Arkansas Lady Razorback Classic Sunday afternoon. The win improves the Bears to 5-2 on the season as Louisiana Tech evens out to 3-3.

Parsons' goal came with only 29 seconds remaining in the first half. A cross from the right from MSU sophomore Jenna Laughlin placed the ball in perfect scoring position for Parsons who blasted the ball past the Lady Techsters' goalkeeper from six yards out, earning the Bears the victory.

Missouri State's defense kept Louisiana Tech scoreless and limited it to only six shots, two on goal. The Bears combined for 20 shots on the match, including 10 on goal.

Jackie Jasper earned her second shutout of the season in goal for the Bears, and improved to 5-2. Jill Medigovich took the loss for Louisiana Tech, pulling in nine saves in the match.

The Missouri State women's soccer team will be back at home on Friday, Sept. 15, at Cooper Sports Complex to challenge University of Arkansas-Little Rock at 7 p.m.
