The Missouri State field hockey team tied its season series with Kent State 1-1 after losing to the Golden Flashes 4-0 Friday, in Kent, Ohio in Mid-American Conference play. The loss is the Bears' sixth in a row and puts them at 5-9 overall and 1-6 in the MAC. Kent State improves to 6-12 and 3-5 in league play.
Kent State's goals were scored by Anna McComb off a penalty corner from Liz Fettrow, Charlotte Muller with help from Kate Perry and Stephanie Bernthal, Annicka Gouws unassisted, and Kate Perry from Elizabeth Lahey off a short corner.
The Bears were outshot 31-4 and received less penalty corners, 11-2, than the Golden Flashes.
Missouri State goalkeeper Kim Kinsella added 16 saves to push her total to 136 for the season, but allowed all four of Kent State's goals. Kinsella's save percentage sits at .845.
The Bears continue conference play on the road against Ohio University on October 21 at noon.
