The Missouri State field hockey lost its second match up with Central Michigan in Mid-American Conference play, 3-2, Sunday at Plaster Field in Springfield, Mo. The loss puts the Bears 1-5 in the MAC, 5-8 for the season, while the win for Central Michigan pushes them to 3-3 in the MAC and 8-7 for the season.
Central Michigan scored twice in the first half, one goal by Kelly Jordan and the other by Amanda Lucik, and took the 2-0 lead into half time. The Bears were able to come back and tie the game up with two goals off of two pentaly corners. Melissa Millin and Katie Schwartz scored for the Bears.
In the 67th minute of the game, Central Michigan's Kelly Jordan scored the game winning goal unassisted. Missouri State outshot, 20-18, and recieved more penalty corners, 14-10, than Central Michigan. Goalkeeper Jessica Schuster takes the loss and recorded seven saves.
The Bears continue conference play on the road next weekend October 20 at Kent State and October 21 at Ohio University. The game time for Friday's match against Kent State is 11 a.m. and Saturday's game with Ohio is set for 12 p.m.
