This week's Murney Student-Athlete of the Week is Missouri State swimmer Sami Roemer. During Saturday’s dual against Missouri, Roemer earned first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.90, breaking her previous personal best in the event by half a second (56.40), a mark set back on Feb. 29, 2020. Roemer also took second in the 100-yard butterfly, recording a time of 54.57, and she contributed to a second-place finish on the 200-yard medley relay team, helping the squad earn a time of 1:39.85. Roemer’s 100-fly time was just short of her personal best (54.32, set at the Purdue Invitational on Nov. 17), and her 100-back time currently ranks 10th in the Missouri Valley Conference.
