Senior Kate Schroeder of the Missouri State women's soccer team put on an offensive display in the Bears matches against Kansas City (Aug. 22) and Arkansas State (Aug. 26). In the match at Kansas City, she put Missouri State on the scoreboard in the 44th minute netting a pass from Grace O'Keefe fro her first goal of the season. Schroeder also provided the difference-maker in Thursday’s 1-0 home-opening win over Arkansas State. The Topeka, Kan., native, scored the game-winning goal in the seventh minute of the match, making a nice touch to beat the Red Wolves keeper and find the back of the net. With her goal, she became the first Bear to score in consecutive matches since Kennady Orlick on Oct. 16 and 19, 2019. Schroeder is just one of 10 players in the MVC to score multiple goals this season.
